Guidelines
Some of the most frequently asked questions that we receive on our
information and support line are in relation to having blood pressure
readings, blood samples and injections in limbs that have, or are at risk of
developing, lymphoedema. Like so many things to do with the condition, there
is little 'true' scientific research on the subject, but many individuals and
practitioners have used their experience and the little research there is to
agree a 'common sense' approach to the subject. The LSN has worked closely
with the Royal College of Anaesthetists and the Royal College of Nursing to promote the adoption of this guidance as best practice; the following outline the guidelines and the information that underpins them.
